James Eichbaum has spent decades investigating digital evidence and training professionals around the world. After working as an investigator and later as Global Training Manager at MSAB, he trained thousands of investigators and saw a clear gap: people needed faster, more practical ways to build real skills and be ready to act — even when there isn’t time to wait for long courses or formal approvals.
In early 2024, James founded Elusive Data. Built on hands-on learning, real case data, and the belief that true understanding comes from doing. He also saw the need to make training more accessible and immediate.
It was then that the idea for Elusive Data took shape: a learning hub where in-depth, immersive courses meet shorter, focused micro-courses designed for fast, targeted learning — alongside guides, free tools, and blog posts that support everyday work.
Today, Elusive Data helps forensic professionals worldwide stay sharp and move fast. We offer live online courses, on-demand training, and micro-courses — all designed to be directly useful in real investigations. We also share free tools, practical insights, and guidance to make advanced knowledge more accessible and help the community grow stronger together.
