Elusive Data expands training formats to make digital forensics training more accessible

Making digital forensics training more accessible

Elusive Data was founded in early 2024 with a clear purpose: to make advanced digital forensics training more accessible, so investigators can gain critical skills faster, understand complex data, and move cases forward with confidence.

Elusive Data was created to offer training that adapts to those realities.

Training built for real investigations

All Elusive Data training is hands-on and built around real case data.

Courses focus on:

  • practical workflows used in daily forensic work

  • interactive labs and CTF-style challenges

  • exercises based on real investigative scenarios

Training is available on-site, live online, on-demand, and through short, focused micro-courses, giving professionals the flexibility to choose what works best for their situation.

Introducing the Friday Series (Live Online)

While classroom and multi-day courses remain important, stepping away from active work for several consecutive days isn’t always realistic. Backlogs fluctuate, new devices arrive, and operational demands change quickly.

To complement existing formats, Elusive Data introduced the Friday Series.

The Friday Series delivers:

  • full, certified courses

  • spread across three consecutive Fridays

  • over a three-week period

This allows participants to attend training one day per week, stay operational between sessions, and apply techniques directly to real cases while the course is still ongoing.

Flexible training formats

Elusive Data offers multiple formats to support different learning styles and operational needs:

  • On-site (classroom) — immersive, in-person training

  • Live online courses — instructor-led, multi-day training delivered remotely

  • On-demand training — self-paced courses with full labs and exercises

  • Micro-courses — short, focused sessions on specific forensic techniques

  • Friday Series (live online) — full courses delivered across multiple weeks

Training that goes beyond tools

Based on real casework and training experience, Elusive Data also develops focused forensic utilities. These tools are designed to reduce friction, provide clearer context, and support analysis that is easier to validate and defend. They complement existing forensic tools and are included as part of the training experience.

In addition to training, Elusive Data supports active investigations through consulting and forensic services.

Looking ahead

When time is limited and stakes are high, investigators need training that offers both depth and flexibility.

Elusive Data provides practical education, tools, and guidance designed to bridge the gap between what forensic tools show and what investigators must be able to explain.
